New Research Website for Book ProjectWe’re excited to report our progress on the research tool. We’ve decided to forego development on the graphical pedigree research when we discovered such a tool already exists – allowing us to upload documents and photos so we can collaborate on this book development project.  You can check it out by clicking here.

_DSC6698 - Version 2This is a work in progress. Our objective is to publish a book of our Alf and Cora Rawlins’ ancestors. The initial intent of this web site is to chart our objectives, our progress, and to provide a place where you can include your input. A project of this size requires the work of many people. We have outlined many opportunities where you can contribute to this Rawlins Family History Book.

One tool we are developing allows you to upload documents, which helps to manage this initiative. You can see the concept this design tool here.

On July 4, 2009 at the Rawlins Reunion in Lewiston, Utah, Kenny & Chris Rawlins presented Mark’s vision for this Rawlins History Book. (Mark was unable to attend, so he had Kenny present his vision.) By the first of October, 2009 we would like to have compiled all historical sketches, scanned photos, maps, and any other possible historical artifacts we might publish in this book. The first part of the book will be the written history by those who have studied the lives and created sketches of these families; the second part will contain the source documents we’ve collected.

Fourth of July, 2009 – Rawlins Reunion in Lewiston, UT

Saturday, July 4, 2009

Kenny and Chris Rawlins present Mark’s vision and ideas concerning this exciting Rawlins History Book project. (At this time, Mark is still recovering from some health issues in the hospital.) If you have questions, feel free to email Kenny, or Chris, or Mark. We’re looking for any help we can to do historical research, writing, editing, and gathering of information. Our target date is October 1st, 2009. At that point in time, this project will move into the next phase preparatory to publishing.

Below is the audio file from the meeting held on the 4th of July.
