- 2 _PREF Y From: Richard Rawlins Subject: Rev. Roderick Rawlins Date: Tue, 22 Sep 199 8 19:30:20 -0500 Wanted to get with you. I have had on my files for years certain informatio n regarding the marriage of Rev. Roderick Rawlins which is FALSE. He has a marriage record f iled in Washington Co., Ind. for his m. to his 2nd wife, Milly Parks. She, herself, gave ba d information. Apparently they were married in a private residence or at Stampers Creek Bapti st Church by Thomas Vandever. Apparently Vandever made the rounds down there and filed eithe r in Washington or Orange County or which ever courthouse he made next. So I believe they we re indeed married in Orange county as Milly states, but she give the wrong name for the minis ter (perhaps there were two present) and the wrong year. The Washington Co., Ind. m. recor d gives the earliest date also (which is further proof it is the correct document as 9 Dec. 1 815. I have a copy of this document in hand. It is too close to the page binding and my cop y is not too good and not certified. But I have had a lengthy talk with the Clerk of the Cou rt there who knew a good deal about Thomas Vandever as a happenstance. I would like to se e the major researchers get this material corrected. diana rawlins
