    McCaslin Frost was the son of James and Isabella Van Dyke Frost. He was born Dec. 10, 1785 in Richland, Rockingham County, North Carolina. He was the fifth child in a family of 9 children - 7 boys and 2 girls. Elekiel, Jonas, John, James, McCaslin, Nicholas, Samuel who married Nancy Childers, Sarah, and Rachel who married Reddin Britt.

    • BIRTH: Birth date also shown as 11 Dec 1786

      AVOCATIONS: Written in long hand on the back of Eulalie L. Taggart's FGS for McCaslin Frost: "McCaslin Frost made violins and played them when he was so old he lost his hearing but could still play the times, someone would tune his violin then he would play and everybody enjoyed hearing him. He had a hobby of gathering pins; he always found a pin when others never saw them.

      UTAH_IMMIGRATION: Archibald Kerr and family brought his father and mother in-law McCaslin and Peninna S. Frost . They came to Utah in Phillemon C. Merrill Company to Salt Lake City 18 of Aug 1856. McCaslin Frost left Florence Neb. 5 June 1856 in Capt. Philemon C. Merrill's Company. I got this information 5 Mar 1937 from the Church Historian's office (Daisy Barger Larson). I got it from Abram Lafayette Barger of Downey, Ida. who had got it from his sister. Oct 1, 1953 , Eulalie L. Taggart.
