- He was in the Revolutionary War. He was drafted three years and enlisted four years. M y grandpa's brother had a fight with a wild wounded deer which stamped and hooked him, as lon g as he stirred, so to save his life he lay still until the deer left him, supposing he was dead, and went out of sight. This my grandfather told me. Grandfather died on the10th of March when I was ten years old.
