• Notes

  William was in the Confederate Service and was injured in the 1st day battle at Gettysburg. He was sent home to recuperate and then returned to be a provost guard in the service of General Rodes. He had enlisted at Camp Mangum,NC, April 1862. He was a private in NC 45th, Guilford Co,Co C. He left NC & was in Texas in May of 1878.
