Son-in-law: John Cullers (land on Crabtree Creek). Daughters: Judith Wilson, Mary Cullers, Lucy Jones, Bette Day Jones, Lydia Jones, Jemima Jones. E xecutors: Mary Jones (wife) and Nathaniel Jones (son). Witnesses: Thos. Wiggins, Francis Drake. Clerk of the Court: Jos. Montfort. The Jones family came from Virginia, settled in NC on Crab Tree Creek, 12 miles from present- day Raliegh He owned land on Swift Creek in Johnston Co., Jacket Swamp in Edgecombe Co., and Crabtree Creek in Wake Co., NC. It is believed that Albridgton and Mary lived in that part of Edgecombe Co. that later became Halifax Co. Mary Ridley was the third child of Nathaniel and Elizabeth (Day) Ridley, born abt 1706. Sh e married Francis Jones, son of Francis and ____Tignal Jones of Warwick Co., VA. He was a nephew of her stepfather, Matthew Jones. It seems likely that Francis and Mary (Ridley) Jones started out married life on a 200 acre plantation acquired from Nathaniel Jones on the N. s ide of the W. prong of the Cypress Swamp in Nottaway Parish, Isle of Wight Co., VA. They sold the land in 1740 and moved to Edgecombe Co., NC where he received a land grant in 1744. She is said to have been living in 1784. Francis Jones died in Edgecombe by Aug. of 1755. H e mentioned thirteen children in his will, but the order of their birth is not certain.
