- will of father James Blount, 9 July 1685; proved 17 July 1686 Blount, John will Jan 7 1725-6 probated May 18, 1726 wife Elizabeth, son Thomas, son John , son James, son Charles Worth, son Joseph, Daughters Mary Jacocks, Elizabeth Pagett, Sarah L ovick, Martha Worsely, Hester Worley, daughters Ann and Rachel. Witnesses Samuel warren, William Benbury, Magnus Plowman. Sons: John, Thomas (manor, fronting on Albemarle Sound, John t o have eastern and Thomas western portion), James and Charles (land on Welches Creek), Joseph (land at Mattehapungo, known by the name of Goshen). Wife: Elizabeth (land at Bear Swamp and at Barrow Hole). Daughters: Mary Jacocks , Eliza Paget, Sarah Lovick, Martha Warsley and Hester Worley. Executrix: Elizabeth Blount (wife), to be assisted by friends John Lovick and Thos. Pollock. Witnesses: Samll. Warner, Wm. Benbury, Magnes Plowman. Will prove n before Richard Everard, Governor, etc. Codicil to will of John Blount. Dated January 27, 1725-1726. Daught ers: Ann and Rachel (a gold ring each). Christopher appointed assistant together with Jno. Lovick and Thos. Pollock. Coat of arms on seal of both will and codicil. The testator mentions in the will having broken the entail. lived and died at Mulberry Hill, about six miles from Edenton, NC, on the Albemarle sound. he land was bequeathed to John by his father, James Blount, who patented the same in 1684.
