- One record "Addenda to the Phillip Alston Line" in the Groves book, section added by Rev. Silas Emmet Lucas indicates that the Mary H. Hawkins that married Augustus Alston was daughter of James Hawkins. One James Madison Hawkins b 1809 to Benjamin Hawkins and Lavinia Downs of Georgia, probably needs not be considered. Another, James B. Hawkins son of John Davis Hawkins and Jane A. Boyd, and grandson of Philemon III, needs to be considered.
