- Fanny Leondi (Leah) 's 1st child was born in Canaca. and died when he was only nine months o ld. Leah and Willie then both left Canada and returned to Scotland for a holiday to get ove r their loss. War was declared, and she and her husband had not lived in Canada for the nec essary five years to qualify as a Canadian citizen he was called up for military service an d served in France where he was wounded and gassed. This child lived only 9 months. No dates. Parents went back to Scotland just before the war d . Information from their daughter Elsie Juchnowicz who has written several letters to us f rom England.
