History of McCaslin Frost
McCaslin Frost was the son of James and Isabella Van Dyke Frost. He was born Dec. 10, 1785 in Richland, Rockingham County, North Carolina. He was the fifth child in a family of 9 children - 7 boys and 2 girls. Elekiel, Jonas, John, James, McCaslin, Nicholas, Samuel who married Nancy Childers, Sarah, and Rachel who married Reddin Britt. |

Margaret EIzirah Frost Rawlins , was born 28 April 1830. at Knox County, Tennessee. She was the youngest of a family of eight children. When a small child she moved with her parents to Jefferson County , Iowa .
Being the youngest and no other small children, her Father was very fond of her and with him she spent many hours singing to him and playing with shavings as he worked at his carpenter's bench.
She was baptised in 1842 by her only brother Samuel B, Frost who was the oldest of the family .

One day in the early nineteenth Century Daniel Mark Burbank a young river boat pilot entered a restaurant on the banks of the Mississippi River. There he meet a lovely young widow by the name of Abigail Blodgett King who later became his wife.
